The peak Bistra 1 is located at the border between Kosovo and Macedonia, with a side facing Kosovo. Its ridge is part of Kosovo’s territory and is more dangerous to climb than the ridge of Bistra 2, a nearby peak. In the old Yugoslav maps the peak is labeled as Peskovi and Paskovi, while in later school maps it is referenced as Bistra peak.

The altitude of the peak is marked by a box at the top, according to which Bistra 1is 2651 meters high. This altitude makes Bistra 1 peak the second highest peak in Kosovo, right after the Gjeravica peak, which is 2656 meters high.
