Pjetershtan is located 6 km away from Gjakova, the road leading you there is well paved.

The village grows dense vegetation, and there are many no-name small streams running through the village. The village inhabits 700 ethnic Albanians of Christian religion and two abandoned Montenegrin houses, who migrated in 1999; as it was spared from destructions of the last war. The Church of Joseph the Worker, of the Franciscan order is located in the center of the village and it is maintained by sisters of Virgin Mary order. The church was built in 2000, with the help of diaspora, as a substitution to the old and small church serving by then. Being the only parish for Pjetershtan, Dol, Raçë and Kusar it organizes the greatest religious feast, the holy feast May the 1st. on this occasion, more than 3000 people come to village and spend the day in Pjetershtan. The hills around the village are very comfortable for a walk in the nature; people are very friendly so you may also trespass through unfenced private lands.

If anyone is interested for a longer walk, in around 2 km to the left from the main church entrance you may visit Gurra water spring in village Kusar. After about 2 km, you should turn to your right and go through a pathway which leads you to Gurra meadow. It is a very interesting spring, with the water coming out of the crack of a giant rock plate. If you get disoriented, feel free to talk to any of the friendly villagers for instructions or anything else you need. The water from the spring is fresh and very good to drink, and it is interesting to say that during summer the spring pours more water. There is also a restaurant in the village, restaurant Kurora which works every day.
