The Novobrdo castle is located on top of the Novobrdo Mountain; guarding the town of Novobrdo, which used to be one of the biggest cities of Middle Age Balkans. This was due to the valuable underground resources, such as silver.

This huge mid-age fortress was made on top of a dead volcano crater. Its ruins can still be visited nowadays. In the outer walls of the fortress one may see a huge cross carved in stones. The fortress dates back to the Byzantine Empire days.
