The Spring in Prishtina Flower Festival opened on April 15th on Mother Teresa Boulevard. Fourteen producers from all over Kosovo are participating in the Flower Festival which will run until mid May, and it has really succeeded in bringing Spring to Pristina... although the weather hasn't done us any favours recently!
This is the second consecutive year that this festival has been organised by the Ornamental Group of Producers in Kosovo. On behalf of all the hard working gardeners I urge you all to get down to Mother Teresa next weekend and check it out... and maybe even buy a few houseplants or flowers for your balcony!
And just a bit of background... the Flower Festival has been organised by Horticulture Promotion in Kosovo, in cooperation with the Municipality of Prishtina Directorate for Culture, Youth and Sport & Directorate for Public Affairs with the aim to promote a variety of ornamental species produced locally and increase collaboration between local producers, thus creating a representative national body for the ornamental flower industry.
