Secretary Hillary Clinton Visits Kosovo

Hillary Clinton , the Secretary General of the United States will be visiting Kosovo on Wednesday October the 13th. The short visit is part of a regional tour that Secretary Clinton is undertaking, which starts with Bosnia and Herzegovina and will be ending with a ministerial meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

“In the Balkans, the Secretary will meet with a range of government officials, civil society representatives, and she will attend events with citizens of these countries. She will take stock of progress in the region, exchange ideas, and engage with these groups on a range of issues. “ said Assistant Secretary Gordon in a press briefing.

On October the 12th Secretary Clinton will briefly visit Sarajevo and Belgrade, meeting high profile politicians and heads of state.

On Wednesday, October 13th in Kosovo, the Secretary will hold private meetings with Acting President Jakup Krasniqi, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni. She will also travel to Gracanica, a majorly Serbian populated municipality where she will meet with local leaders.

Assistant Secretary Gordon also informed that "After [Secretary Clinton] gets back to Pristina, she will hold a meeting with women's leaders, other civil society leaders, and youth from all ethnic groups. In all of these stops -- Sarajevo, Belgrade, and Pristina -- the Secretary will participate in various media events as well as embassy meet-and-greet.”

On the 14th Secretary Clinton will be finishing her European visit with meetings in Brussels.
